How difficult are the recipes?

All MenuAid recipes contain detailed and easy to follow recipe cards that are within the capabilities of novice or reluctant cooks. If you’re new to cooking or tend to make the same meals again and again, MenuAid will expand your horizons and help you learn new skills. Once you discover some new favourites, you’ll be able to recreate them whenever you want.

How much does MenuAid cost?

How long do the recipes take to cook?

This will vary between different recipes but our aim is to keep the cooking time as short as possible with most recipes taking 30-45 minutes to prepare and cook. We want people to love food and meal times as much as we do and part of that process is preparing the food yourself.  Our plans still require you to actually use a measuring cup, chopping board and other such kitchen gadgets. Sure, preparing the ingredients may tack on a bit of time in the kitchen but it allows you the freedom to add your own twist to the recipe as well as keeping the costs down.

How much do the recipes cost?

MenuAid is perfect for any budget as you have the ability to keep costs down by choosing the brands and quality of ingredients you prefer. All of our recipes come with an estimated price range and our team of chefs and recipe developers create the meals with ingredient and cost efficiency in mind. This means that when you shop for the ingredients yourself you can fill the pantry and fridge with larger amounts of common goods i.e. rice, pasta, spices & condiments meaning fewer supermarket trips and more money saved.

What are the meal serving sizes?

Our meals are portioned for 4 people but since you are grabbing the groceries yourself it is really easy to be flexible with the amount of portions you want each meal to provide. Our recipes are easy to scale it up to feed more hungry tummies or for delicious leftover lunches.

Do you have the nutritional value of each meal?

We have an amazing in-house nutritionist who ensures each meal is inline with the New Zealand and Australian food standards. We dont currently have nutritional information available for each recipe as it can vary significantly depending on what ingredients you use but this is something we are looking to add in the near future.

Do you cater to all dietary requirements?

At this stage, we offer menu plans for those who eat meat and for those who are vegetarian or vegan. We wanted to begin our journey by really nailing a couple of key menu packs first. We do understand that a huge portion of people have strict dietary requirements so please keep in mind that all ingredients are clearly labelled, and you will always get your weekly menu with the ingredients list and recipes in advance. This means you have the opportunity to substitute any ingredient that you can't, or don't want to, eat. our amazing chefs & recipe developers are always looking for new menu packs to introduce and so stay tuned for any updates.

How do I cancel my subscription?

We're sorry to see you go and we hope that you come back soon!  Cancelling your subscription is easy, you just need to go to follow these steps:   1. Log in to your MenuAid account
 2. Click on your name at the top of the page, and then select 'My Subscriptions'.
 3. Choose the subscription you'd like to cancel by clicking 'manage'.
 4. Click on 'Cancel my subscription' in the bottom left-hand corner. Your subscription status  will now say “cancelled”. Please note if you still have time remaining on your subscription the status will say “pending cancellation.This just means we are waiting for your subscription to finish before we cancel it for you. 
 5. You will receive an email confirming your cancellation, please retain this for future reference

Please note: Our subscriptions are weekly and you can cancel at anytime.

When will I receive my menu packs and where can I find my past recipes?

Every Saturday morning you will receive an email from us with your weekly menu pack, which can be found on the MenuAid platform. These recipes are yours to keep and will remain on your profile as long as you're a MenuAider. You can find the 'recipes' tab at the top of your MenuAid home page where you will find all of the recipes you have been sent previously. We also have a "Favourite" button so you can save the recipes you love so you can easily reuse as you wish.

Do I have all of the necessary equipment to cook?

We like to keep things simple, so we will do our best to limit utensils to the basics. We're pretty sure you'll have all the things you need in your kitchen. Where possible, we provide an alternative so you can still create our delicious recipes even if you don't have some of the required equipment.

How can I give feedback on the recipes?

Your feedback is invaluable to us as we use it to make sure our recipes are continually improving and always to your liking. Please contact us at hello@menuaid.co.nz with any feedback you have.

Question 12

How do I get my groceries?

Accepted Answer

We provide you with a weekly meal plan, complete with recipes and a list of ingredients that can either be self-shopped, or you can order them online and go collect them or have them delivered from your favourite supermarkets or food provider. With MenuAid you are able to source your meat from the local butcher and veggies from the farmers market if you want to. We recommend you choose your favourite brands and swap out any ingredients you need.

Can I change my plan?

Absolutely. Our mission is to provide each user with a wide range of recipes, but also the flexibility to meet their changing needs. You can simply change your plan under the “My subscriptions” tab.

Does MenuAid have a mobile app?

We have a progressive web app that is available to all users with an active subscription.

Question 15

What if I don’t want to use all of the dinner meals on my plan?

Accepted Answer

Our goal is to provide plenty of variety and inspiration for you to pick and choose the meals that most appeal to you and your situation. You will have access to the current week’s plan as well as all the previous weeks. In the app, you can easily select the meals that you want for the week, and automatically create a shopping list based on your selections.
